Photo Gallery

As of today, PeachlandNews.com has  a new Photo Gallery to peruse. We’ve been looking high and low for a decent WordPress plugin, something easy to use yet nice, and we think we finally found it.

Up to now, the Photo Gallery has been located in the middle of the home page… that long slidey thing with the thumbnail pictures.

To check out the new gallery, scroll up to the top of any page and click on ‘Photo Gallery’ in the sub-navigation-bar.

The Photo Gallery is organized in albums: Year, then month. Some months have special sub-albums, such as for special events, and for contributed photos from website visitors.

Send us your photos! Now that we have a cool, organized system for photos, we’d love to have yours! We can’t guarantee we’ll post every photo sent to us, but we sure do like pictures!

A few things you should know:

  1. Any photos sent to us must be taken by the person doing the sending. (Please don’t send cool/cute photos you find on the web.)
  2. We prefer if you send full size digital photos. Small photos don’t look good when blown up, but we can’t properly size bigger photos for the gallery.
  3. Tell us who you are (so we can attribute the photo(s) correctly), when and where you took the photo(s) and what the subject matter is.
  4. Send photos to: news@peachlandnews.com

Shortly, we’ll have a photo submission policy written and linked to from the Photo Gallery main page. (You hereby authorize PeachlandNews.com the right to…)

In the mean time, snap some pics and start sending them in! And do check out the Photo Gallery regularly to see what’s new!
