Thanks to the efforts of the BC Freshwater Fisheries Society and the Summerland Trout Hatchery, the popular Regional Parks ‘Go Fish’ program has been extended until Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19.

The special fishing area in Shannon Lake Regional Park and the Hall Road pond in Mission Creek Regional Park will be restocked with several hundred rainbow trout.

Sundays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Parks Services staff will be on hand with a limited number of rods, reels and bait will be available each weekend for youngsters under age 16 to try their luck!

‘Go Fish’ is being offered with the generous support of the Peachland Sportsmen’s Association, Lonely Loon Flyfishers Society, Kelowna Fish and Game Club, the Ministry of Environment, Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and the Summerland Trout Hatchery.

For more information about this or other Regional Park programs please visit the Regional District website regionaldistrict.com or contact the EECO at 250-469-6140.
