Power outage traps one in elevator

One person was trapped in an elevator at The Gateway building on 13th Street when the power went out to all of Peachland Monday morning.

The unexpected power outage started a few minutes after 10 a.m. and lasted less than hour.

Firefighters from Peachland Fire and Rescue Service were on their way back to the fire hall when the power outage took place and they received a call about a person trapped in The Gateway elevator.

BC Hydro’s Power On website indicates that a crew was working on equipment Monday morning. There was a BC Hydro crew at the bottom of Drought Hill at the time of the power outage.
