The residents of a home for sale on the 900 block of Mission Springs Road thought they were putting their jewellery in a safe place while their house was being shown. Unfortunately this turned out to be a heartbreaking decision. The two jewellery boxes were placed on the floor of a locked truck outside the home and were discovered empty on the ground the next morning. The boxes contained approximately $30,000 worth of jewellery, much of it antique and family heirlooms. The most notable pieces include: a purple amethyst heritage necklace, four sets of cameo earrings and necklaces, a pearl necklace with antique clasp, a gold nugget pendant necklace, an antique grouse foot Scottish brooch, sapphire “owl” stud earrings, large antique garnet earrings and a gold pendant heart containing a loved one’s ashes.
