No major injuries were reported at the scene of a traffic accident on Hwy. 97 in Peachland Monday morning.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision, which happened at the intersection of Hwy. 97 and 13th Street. A white Suzuki Vitara was headed southbound on the highway and a red GMC pickup truck was headed northbound.
It appears the driver of the Vitara attempted to make a left turn onto 13th Street when it was struck nearly head on by the pickup truck. The collision spun the Vitara around 180 degrees.
Skid marks on the highway show the pickup driver slammed on his brakes to try and avoid hitting the Vitara.
Both vehicles were disabled and had to be towed from the scene. The pickup’s two occupants were shaken up but not injured. The two occupants of the Vitara were checked out by paramedics at the scene.

People are so stupid! I’m angry at reading that news and I hope the RED pickup driver will be doing well and will be left without any injuries.
That accident was 250% preventable. Installing a light at that intersection will only help stop oncoming traffic, not people from driving like monkeys.
