Youth wanted for Battlefield Live
by Dave Preston
The Peachland Youth Group is looking for a few good men… er, youth.
Battlefield Live is coming to Peachland Wednesday and the Peachland Youth Group is looking for tweens and teens to participate.
Youth Worker Caleigh Ellis said the event takes place at the Peachland Community Centre March 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost is just $10 per participant and everyone must register by calling Ellis at 250.859.3893.
Not sure what Battlefield Live is? Think paintball with laser guns. Think bionic laser tag.
From the Battlefield Live website:
Battlefield Live is a thrilling combat entertainment experience using sophisticated programmable gaming guns that use safe infrared light. The game is fun, team oriented and pain free. What makes it unique is the combination of the cool technology and the team based approach. The gaming guns shoot infrared ‘ghost bullets’, the infrared is completely harmless – just like in a tv remote. Unlike other gaming systems you cannot cheat in Battlefield Live. Each gaming gun is essentially a peer to peer computer system which keeps the players informed of their game status. Some people think of it as high-tech hide and seek as the game combines physical agility with the thrill of computer games.
