The mayor of Peachland will be sending a letter of complaint to transit authorities over the poor handling of bus schedule changes that came into effect Sunday.
Council discussed the matter Tuesday morning after it was discovered on the weekend that changes were imminent to the bus schedule and the new schedule posted on the Transit BC website showed a severe reduction for bus service in Peachland.
Mayor Keith Fielding expressed concern that transit authorities decided to make changes to the schedule without any apparent notification to the public. In addition, the schedule that was posted for Peachland on the transit website was wrong.
In other transit news, the mayor indicated there is a line item in this year’s budget to pay for the installation of bus schedules at bus stops.
