A 44-year-old West Kelowna man is facing possible impaired charges after crashing his pickup through a hedge and fence and into a travel trailer.

On Saturday, April 28 at 11:30 p.m., West Kelowna RCMP received a report of a collision in the 3400 block of Webber Road.

Police attended and found that a Ford F350 had gone through a cedar hedge, through an empty lot, through a chain link fence and impacted a 27-foot travel trailer.

The force of the collision pushed the trailer about 25 feet and sprayed gravel into three parked vehicles, causing shrapnel-like damage. The extent of the damage is tremendous, estimated at over $80,000.

Fortunately, the driver received only minor, non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by the BC Ambulance Service for treatment before being taken to the detachment for breath samples.

No one else was injured in the incident.

The man blew in excess of twice the legal limit, even several hours after the crash and is facing multiple potential charges related to impaired driving. He was released on a Promise to Appear for Court in July.
