It’s smooth sailing on the TransCanada Highway east of Revelstoke after crews cleared the major route from debris left over from several mudslides.
Torrential rains on the weekend closed the highway in both directions in two places near Revelstoke.
The highway reopened at about 3:30 p.m., according to Drive BC.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays in the area as there is a heavy backup of traffic.
Meanwhile, Hwy. 16, the Yellowhead, has opened to single lane alternating traffic in two locations near Tete Jaune Cache. A mudslide eight kilometres east of the junction with Hwy. 5 and flooding 25 kilometres west of the junction closed the highway on the weekend.
