As we are nearing the halfway mark in the project replacing nine bridges in Hardy Falls Regional Park, the Regional District of Central Okanagan is providing this update on construction.
The main trail section of the park located on Hardy Road near the south end of Peachland remains closed for the duration of the bridge replacement project. We wish to thank everyone for their patience and respect of the closure by staying out of this construction area.
The project remains on time and on budget. So far, all seven bridges that were slated for replacement have been removed (the first bridge is not impacted, only those others upstream). The main structures for bridges two, three and four have been put in place and work began earlier this week on bridge five. We are optimistic that the work on the remaining bridges will be completed as anticipated by July 31.
During construction, the washrooms and picnic areas of the park are still open for use.
Again, we thank everyone for their ongoing cooperation and support while we complete this large project.
