Missing motorcyclist found deceased

Update (July 16). . .Valemount RCMP has confirmed that the body of Dennis Gordon Gudmundson, along with Gudmundson’s motorcyle, were found down an embankment on Hwy. 5, south of Valemount.

Valemount RCMP are currently investigating the incident.

RCMP detachments in both the North and Southeast District areas of the province are seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing person Dennis Gordon Gudmundson 61-years-old, from Keremeos, B.C.

Gudmundson was riding his blue 2003 Harley Davidson m/c Alberta license #PAGE564 from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, on July 7, returning to Keremeos with travel time to cover.

Gudmundson was reported overdue to the Keremeos RCMP on July 8 at around 6 p.m. by a close friend, after he failed to arrive as planned.

To date debit card transactions on his bank account last saw activity in McBride and Prince George then again on July 8 back in McBride. Investigators are currently confirming the transactions information and the user.

Dennis Gordon Gudmundson is described as:

  • Caucasian male 61 yrs old
  • 5’9″, 194 lbs
  • gray hair, goatee
  • blue eyes
  • Riding a 2003 blue full dress Harley Davidson motorcycle
  • Alta plate# PAGE564

The RCMP is asking that anyone traveling in the Valemount to Prince George and southern direction of Hwy. 5 to the interior, be aware of this overdue traveler.

Anyone with information regarding Mr. Gudmundson’s whereabouts report same to their local RCMP or the Keremeos RCMP at 250-499-2250.

    My husband was right as to what area he would be in. Husband has travelled that road over a hundred times for his work in Alberta. Said that between Valemount and Blue River there are some tight turns. One so bad that if you aren’t paying attention you can go off the road easily, over an embankment and into the river even. No one could see you over the bank. With waters being murky in the North Thompson, no one would know you were there either. Accidents happen to bikes and cars on this stretch of road.
