Emergency crews responded to an incident at Kelowna International Airport Thursday that ended well for all involved.

A PC12 Pilatus aircraft requested an emergency landing at the airport at 12:36 p.m. with a report of a possible engine fire, according to YLW spokesperson Jenelle Hynes.

Kelowna Airport firefighters were on scene for what Hynes called a two-alarm standby. The Kelowna Fire Department, BC Ambulance Service and RCMP were all alerted of the incident.

“The aircraft containing four people landed without incident prior to their arrival to the airport at 12:39 p.m.,” said Hynes.
