An evacuation alert for Wilson’s Landing has been lifted due to minimal risk to structures.
The Wilson’s Landing Fire began Friday night by lightning and flared up Saturday.
Firefighters got the upper hand on the fire Wednesday, leading to 100 per cent containment of the fire, according to Kayla Pepper, fire information officer.
“Seventy firefighters are continuing to mop-up the smouldering ground fire,” said Pepper. “Smoke may be visible for a number of days as crews continue to work toward the centre of the burnt area.”
Firefighters and two helicopters worked on the fire Wednesday, delivering water to extinguish hot spots within the fire perimiter.
