Westside trigger trio faces attempted murder charges

The third suspect in Tuesday’s wild pursuit that involved guns fired at police has been named alongside the laying of numerous charges against the trio.
Ashley Alexendria Collins faces serious charges, along with Michael Ellis and Shawn Wysinski, in relation to the incident.
Collins is 19-years-old and was a former student of Kelowna Secondary School.
Collins is recovering in hospital from a gunshot wound she received during the melee, but it is not clear if she was shot by police or one of her co-accused.
Crown prosecutors have approved the following charges:
Michael Ellis, 39, of no fixed address.
- Attempt murder with a firearm x 3;
- Commit an offence where a firearm is used in the commission of an offence;
- Operate a motor vehicle while being pursued by police and failing to stop in order to evade police;
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Shawn Wysinski, 32, of no fixed address.
- Attempt murder with a firearm x 3;
- Commit an offence where a firearm is used in the commission of an offence;
- Operate a motor vehicle while being pursued by police and failing to stop in order to evade police;
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Ashley Collins, 19, of Kelowna.
- Attempt murder with a firearm x 3;
- Commit an offence where a firearm is used in the commission of an offence.
Investigators confirmed that they have seized firearms, which they believe were used in the commission of the offences.
All three suspects remain in custody and been remanded until August 9.
