Speed was definitely a factor in a crash Monday afternoon that may have totaled a pickup truck and a quad that was in the truck’s box.

Emergency personnel were called out to the scene of the crash about 4:30 p.m. The single-vehicle accident took place on Princeton Avenue, just south of Ellison Avenue.

RCMP at the scene said a pickup truck was headed uphill when the driver rounded a corner and lost control of his truck. The truck was a black Ford F350 4×4.

The truck apparently went into the ditch, up the side of an embankment, rolled and landed in the ditch, pointed in the opposite direction. A quad that was in the back of the truck ended up squashed underneath the vehicle.

The single occupant driver of the truck sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

An RCMP officer at the scene said police were sorting out whether the truck was alone at the time of the accident or part of a group of vehicles that was racing up Princeton Avenue.
