Big power outage for Smith Creek

BC Hydro is advising that a wide swath of Smith Creek in West Kelowna will be without electricity for seven hours this Thursday.

Hydro states it will me making electrical system improvements that require a power outage from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, August 9.

The areas affected are:

  • Smith Creek, Rainbow, Rubicon, Salish, Iron Ridge, Sageview, and Rhinestone Roads;
  • Sugosa PIace;
  • Copper Ridge Court;
  • Whispering Hills, Wild Horse, Saddle Ridge, and Stoneridge Drives;
  • Bridlehill Court;
  • Copper Ridge PIace;
  • Copperridge Way.

BC Hydro is advising customers in the affected area to protect all sensitive equipment. Anyone experiencing any electrical problems following the interruption or requiring further information can call BC Hydro at 1.888.POWERON (1.888.769.3766).
