The Kelowna Fire Department, with assistance from BC Forest Service firefighters and firefighting aircraft successfully contained a wildfire near Gallaghers Canyon Friday night.
Breaking out at about 6:30 p.m., the fire was located near the south side of McCulloch Road.
A total of 24 firefighters attended the blaze, which was also actioned by helicopters and a fixed wing aircraft dropping retardant.
Reports are that firefighters were successful in building a guard around the small fire, which was burning at a low Rank 1/2.
