Update (August 24). . . The body of a man found off Hot Sands Beach in Kelowna Monday was that of a 26-year-old Kelowna resident who was originally from Vernon, according to RCMP.
Update (3:15 p.m.). . . RCMP is saying a man whose body was found Monday afternoon off a Kelowna beach appears to have been swimming.
Cnst. Kris Clark also said, at this time, the man’s death does not appear to be suspicious.

Okanagan Lake may have claimed another drowning victim.
A body was discovered off Hot Sands Beach early Monday afternoon, a Kelowna news outlet is reporting.
A snorkeling tourist from Calgary apparently discovered the body at about 1 p.m. The body was about 40 feet off shore and in about four feet of water.
Steve Brown, with assistance from others, pulled the body of a man, described as in his 20s, to shore.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP are investigating.
