After my previous rant, I fully expected some rebuttal from the Vocal Minority known as the Peachland Residents Association. Further research pointed me to the fact that in 2007 Keith Fielding was one of the contact points for something called Concerned Citizens of Peachlnd.who stated aim was to be against vrious develoomwnts proposed at the time. I guess that clearly spells out where the Mayor sits in regard to Development.
Sorry I forgot about the Barone sculptures in my earlier post. On a recent trip to the Island I also found out that our previous Administrator has also been let go by the council in Sooke. and we still do not know why and how much it cost us to rid ourselves of this individual. Was it another case of taking the easy way out instead of providing responsible government? I dont know.
I have now reviewed Mr Allisons advertisement response and find it mind boggling that the mayor admitted that the Town was wrong and had not provided the Recreations Amenity demands to TNI and that no rectification is forthcoming. I again call on the Mayor and Council to correct the wrong they have comitted.
Well, after reading Mr.Allisons epistle on his objective, it certainly appears to be un-professional on part of the Council. As it stands if Allisons remarks are true and why not, it would be that the Municipality admit the ‘foul-up’ and make amends, including informing the Taxpayer. Amen.
Steve, I can barely fathom the extent of exasperation you(and your family) must be feeling. My stomach is churning as I write this, and I’m sure that the MAJORITY of Peachlander’s feel likewise.
I have known you and your family for 10 of the 17 years that you have unconditionally loved Peachland ….. and I know it was that unconditional love for Peachland that allowed you to compromise on what would have been a more conventional and economically sound expansion of your business entities. You stuck with Peachland despite the business advantages of moving elsewhere, and that speaks volumes for your integrity.
Sadly, I feel that we will lose you over this debacle, and that is plainly unjust! Peachland will be a darker place without your family, or your business for that matter.
You have shown that the true colours of some people within this district are not very peachy in hue, and my only hope is that this whole saga will motivate the majority of Peachlander’s to rise up and put an end to all of the nonsense that we have to endure on an almost yearly basis, based on the actions of a tiny minority. Steve, I beg you, please don’t let a few rotten peaches blight the whole crop.
PS: You forgot to put the ‘Barone Sculptures’ around your revised drawing.
