The Regional District of Central Okanagan, in consultation with Interior Health has removed the longstanding Boil Water Notice for eight properties served by the Star Place Water System in the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area.

The boil notice has been in place since the Regional District assumed responsibility for operating and maintaining the system during the 1990’s. A Boil Water Notice sent out September 11 for customers of the community water system off Highway 97 was a reminder and as a result of the Trepanier forest fire.

Over the past three years, water system improvements funded in part through the Federal Gas Tax – Community Works Fund included universal water metering, equipment that allows remote online water quality monitoring and system adjustments and filter and pump upgrades.

Interior Health has indicated with these improvements, it’s satisfied with lifting the Boil Water Notice.
