Tuesday morning will mark a milestone in Peachland politics. It will be the first time, at least in recent memory, where residents are given the opportunity to ask the mayor of Peachland a question… and pay to have the privilege to do so.

 

While the design of the new Ponderosa intersection and highway improvements were generally accepted positively at an open house Tuesday, there were a few rumors circulating about other matters.

Thoughts on the loss of an Enderby firefighter

People in general have an affinity toward firefighters. It’s inherently heroic when firefighters run toward a burning building that the rest of us run away from.

 

Sparking the latest debate was a declaration by Black Press that their websites will no longer allow anonymous posters.

 

As election forums go, Tuesday night’s get together was as congenial, polite and downright boring as a forum can be.

 

I feel comfortable in saying tonight will likely not mark the beginning of an Ernie Hurd love-fest.

 

District management staff won’t consider advertising on PeachlandNews.com until the website’s comment feature is disabled.

 

There is a perception in some Peachland quarters that some senior staff at the municipal office are actually running the show and council is little more these days than a rubber stamp committee.
